Universal Promotions Workers Join Teamsters

Another Group of Graphics Workers Secures Strong Union Representation

More than two-dozen workers at Universal Promotions in Chicago have ditched the phony Printing Packaging & Production Workers Union (PPPWU) to secure strong union representation with the Teamsters.

“The PPPWU failed to give us a real voice on the job. They were too close with management and negotiated bad contracts against our interests,” said Cecilia Sandoval, an E-store and inventory controller at Universal Promotions and proud new member of Local 710. “Now that we have strong Teamsters representation, we’re excited to negotiate a contract that truly reflects our priorities.”

The 25 workers provide services ranging from graphic design and embroidery to engraving and screen printing. They wanted to join Local 710 to secure a real voice in the workplace as well as the higher wages, better benefits, and improved work rules that come with a Teamsters contract.

If you are a PPPWU member who wants to join a union that listens to you and fights for you, reach out to a Teamsters organizer today by calling (202) 624-8718.
